Christmas means a multitude of excitements and festivities, and with that, therefore, comes a whole host of themed activities across Manchester. We’ve cherry-picked a few of our fav bits and Christmas bobs going on that you’d be a fool (sorry but you would) to miss.

Love Actually Live

It’s one of the nation’s favourite feel good Christmas films and with Richard Curtis at its helm, a star-studded cast and Hugh Grant dancing in Downing Street it’s no wonder we can watch it again and again!

Well the only thing better than watching this at Christmas on a big screen is watching it at Christmas on a big screen with drinks and several live surprises (surprise being the operative word here). There’s no more that needs to be told, you just need to get your tickets!

Albert Square European market

We all need some quirky shopping locations for all those presents we’ve got to buy and that’s where Christmas markets come in super handy. Our pick of the bunch is Albert Square’s European Market which has everything from pottery and clothes to plants and unique hand-crafted gifts.

Once you’ve shopped till you’re ready to drop, join us for and we’ll look after you with festive cocktails and winter warmers, festive and normal menus and general Christmas cheer. We might even have an igloo available….

Dunham Massey

More sparkles than usual are a given at Christmas but a mile-long sparkling path winding through the National Park woodland is something else. Over a 100,000 fairy lights make up the Pealight Heaven canopy, while at the finally brightly coloured water jets dance to Christmas music. It’s a half an hour drive from Manchester but well worth the visit.

Hinterland

Giant tipis, Aurora displays wood-fired hot tubs and arctic activities join together to create a pop-up wilderness that is Hinterland. Just 10 minutes from town it’s Manchester’s very own festive village

Ice skating

Christmas isn’t Christmas without ice skating let’s be honest. And the ice rink in First Street covers that!  Get those skates on and spin around the rink until your heart’s content – then wander over to The Refinery and we’ll warm those cockles with drinks and food galore!
