‘Snow flurries began to fall…it was magical, this snow globe world.’ And even if the snow never arrives, we have your world covered (quite literally) with ski gondolas, cosy cabins, and of course, the return of the igloos – all offering a gorgeous party hotspot. Take a wander around our very own Winter Wonderland, discovering snow-covered shelters inspired by our adventures around the world.
Veuve Clicquot Ski Gondola
Take a trip to the French Alps at The Listing in an exclusive Veuve Clicquot Gondola. Seating four in cosy comfort with furs (faux of course), snacks and most importantly, Champagne, it’s the ultimate spot for a luxurious treat – the City’s very own après-ski. Up in Manchester, The Anthologist St Peter’s Square have a gondola of their own – this time reaching further north to the Scottish Highlands. Knock back a wee Glenmorangie cocktail garnished with candy floss to well and truly warm those cockles from the cold.
Snow Queen Snow Globes
Continue your adventure to a faraway land of snow-crowned mountains and crystal lakes with your very own snow globe experience. The Sipping Room in West India Quay and The Refinery Spinningfields in Manchester are bringing back their fabulous igloos, where you may find yourself caught up in a fairy tale of elemental powers and delicate enchantments. The bold and the curious will be swept up in the ancient magic of the Snow Queen and her legendary palace of ice. Accommodating groups of up to ten, all come fully furnished with little touches including electric heaters, sheepskin throws and Drake & Morgan’s signature hot water bottles, hats and gloves to keep those mitts toasty warm.
If Hygge’s your thing (and it seems to have been most people’s over the last 18 months), then you’ll want to take a trip south of the river to The Refinery Bankside, where, in place of their annual summer screen for Wimbledon, you’ll find The Rekorderlig Hus – the snuggest of cabins in which to enjoy some winter merriment. Guests will be treated to cider cocktails, warming Rekorderlig concoctions and some Scandi-inspired snacks before the festive treats take over in December.
Blue Moon Cabin
Looking to travel further afar? The Allegory’s transporting you Stateside with its Blue Moon Cabin – a nod to the log fires and timber of Wisconsin and Colorado’s mountain cabins. Knock back a Blue Moon beer from a can, tap or the bottle – whatever floats your boat – or sip on a beer-infused cocktail, accompanied by your choice of trail mix.
Both winter cabins can fit up to 8 people inside, though if you fancy a slightly larger soirée, why not hire the terraces around them too for the best of both worlds – your very own winter wonderland.
