The annual movement to rally support for men’s health is headed by the Movember Foundation, and what a fabulous job they do for such an important cause. It’s easy and fun to get involved in and one of our favourite charities to get behind every year. But let’s not forget the importance of what’s behind the fun, as their strapline runs this year, ultimately they want us to help ‘stop men dying too young’. So Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, let’s get behind it.
How we’re supporting
El Bandito
Garnished with a touch of black pepper stubble and a bright moustache made out of orange peel, our cocktail created especially for Movember is a delight to drink. On top of that, £1 from every sale goes straight to the charity so you get the best of both worlds.
You can order El Bandito throughout November at all the Drake & Morgan London bars & restaurants for £8.95. The heady sip features Chairman’s Spiced Rum, Bacardi Oro, our homemade brewin’ up cordial, fresh lime juice, Falernum and angostura bitters and will warm you right up in these cold wintry evenings!
Pennies
We use the wonderful Pennies to encourage our customers to donate a few spare pence to our selected charity when they come to paying their bill. In addition our cocktail, all our Pennies donations this month go straight to Movember.
Staff Support
We encourage all our boys to get involved with Movember personally by growing a moustache throughout November. Many of the team get really involved with this and raise money on their own fundraising sites which is great to see. We’ll be sure to share pictures of the best moustaches on social.
How you can support
This month Movember are suggesting 3 main ways of supporting the cause. Movember Registered Charity No.1137948 (England/Wales).
Grow Your Mo
Along with all our staff, everyone is encouraged to champion the moustache to raise funds for men’s health. We highly recommend this – it’s a great fun challenge and brilliant awareness raiser.
Take the Move Challenge
Encouraging everyone to get physically active is often most successful for charitable causes, and this is no different. Take the Move challenge can be whatever you want it to be, from running a race to learning a new, weird and wacky sport.
Host an Event
This is a super easy, fun option – we all like getting together to have a good time whether it’s having a dinner party or going to play golf, but why not make your next get-together even more special by using it as a means to raise money for Movember. Sign up here to create your very own official event
So folks grow those ‘taches, ladies support & try not to laugh…and all of you drink lots of cocktails: sound’s pretty good to us.
