Jazz up June

By Drake & Morgan
On 27th May 2016

There is no excuse for being bored this month as – jam packed with fun events and new restaurants opening, June has got so many things to jazz up your free time.

Eat

Poke & Matcha

You may remember us talking about the food world’s latest obsession in our trends blog. Sure enough, poke is coming to London with a bang. The Tombo, Poke & Matcha Bar arrives in Soho on the 6th June. The Tombo team are tea specialists, so as well as all manner of the Hawaiian bowls of poke, expect to see everything from Tombo Matcha Lattes to Matcha brownies, cakes and sundaes.

Drink

In a Crazy Golf Bar

Now this is the moment we’ve been waiting for – Swingers LDN has finally arrived! Opening today, you can eat, drink, dance, and play golf all in one place! Based on a 1920’s golf-club, there are 2 bespoke crazy golf courses, 5 cocktail bars, 3 street-food vendors (Pizza Pilgrims, Patty & Bun and Le Bab) and a 2 story clubhouse with a gin terrace…..need we say any more.

To the Great British Summer

To really celebrate the summer in style, our Great British Summer will be back at The Refinery Bankside. From the 13th June until 31st August, our alfresco terrace will be transformed into a little slice of Havana, courtesy of our partners in crime – Bacardi. Think deck chairs, a pop up Bacardi bar, and a big screen showing Wimbledon, The Olympics and more….yes please!

See

The New Wing

One of London’s best galleries is soon to be unveiling its new wing! On June 17th, an iconic new building housing more of the collection and performance and installation art opens at the Tate Modern. It’s right next door to The Refinery Bankside – so make sure you check it out.

The Euros in Style

We’re really hoping our luck is turning in the sporting world after our abysmal performance in the Rugby World Cup. If you really want to make the most of it we recommend hiring out one of our Private Dining Rooms. At The Anthologist, The Happenstance, The Folly and Drake & Morgan at King’s Cross you can have the PDR to yourselves with drinks, dinner, whatever takes your fancy with the game on the big screen with sound. Contact your preferred venue for more details.

Do

Father’s Day

Somehow Father’s Day never seems to be as big a deal as Mother’s Day is – we think we should try and change that. Join us for lunch at selected sites on Sunday 19th June and we’ve got a little treat for the fathers out there! Tuck into a scrumptious Sunday roast and we’ll give your dad a trio of Goose Island IPA to take away with him. Have a look here for a bit more info on the India Pale Ale.

The Cally Festival

Coinciding with Father’s Day, the Cally Festival returns to Caledonian Road this year. From 12pm till 6pm you can embrace your inner artist with a fab selection of music, theatre, arts & crafts, food & drink and much more. The free festival is perfect for adults and children alike and most importantly gives undiscovered talent a chance to shine in the workshops and showcases.
