All the Meat you can muster

If you’re a meat lover listen up because it’s time, once again, for Meatopia. A haven for meat lovers, this festival of ethically sourced meat was brought to the UK from the US by Richard H Turner and has become a legendary event. This year’s event takes place this weekend from 2nd to 4th September on Tobacco Dock. Grab your tickets here and head down for a weekend of meat, drink & music.

We all get a bit sad when the summer comes to an end, so to cheer everyone up we’ve got a little treat of an offer for you to make the most of throughout September. Between 5pm and 8pm Monday to Saturday you can enjoy our new charcuterie plate & a bottle of prosecco for £35. Available at all our bars & restaurants.

Peroni in our Autumn Garden

We know how much you all love La Petite Provence at The Folly, so we’ve decided to collaborate with Peroni at Drake & Morgan at King’s Cross and give you a little bit of an autumnal garden to enjoy as well, now that the nights are drawing in. This is no ordinary garden, however, but one in which you sip Peroni and Peroni cocktails all day long and every Tuesday you can even try your hand at making the Peroni Infusions Masterclasses, courtesy of the masters themselves.

Do

Celebrate Roald Dahl turning 100

The man behind the gloriumptious stories involving giant peaches, snozzcumbers and oompa-loompas would turn 100 years old this month and that’s got to be something to celebrate! London certainly thinks so, so whether you want to have a magnificently filthsome Dinner at the Twits at The Vaults in South Bank, see the BFG in pictures at the House of Illustration or tuck into a Roald Dahl inspired Afternoon Tea at the Shard you’re not going to be stuck for ideas. For September 13th only you’ll be able to order our ‘James’s Giant Peach’ cocktail and our ‘Wonka’s Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delight….for grown ups’ pudding at all our bars & restaurants. You won’t want to miss out on that tongue twister we can assure you!

Commemorate the Great Fire of London

In a less happy, but certainly not less important occasion from 2nd to 5th September its 350 years since the Great Fire of London caused so much damage. There are all sorts of things going on to mark the anniversary, so make sure to get involved. Just around the corner from The Happenstance, St Paul’s will be staying open late on 2ndand 3rd September in honour of the anniversary and there will also be two lectures on the Great Fire. Meanwhile from 1st to 3rd September, there’ll be flaming flowerpots and candles galore outside the Tate Modern so when you’re having a drink at The Refinery Bankside make sure to pop out and have a look.
